New Port Richey is on Florida's central Gulf Coast and is the setting for Summertree, a lush, gated 55+ community with 800 single family homes and town homes. The landscaping is mature, with tall trees, creeks, gardens and ponds, giving Summertree a soothing quality.
Along South Carolina's Grand Strand, Surfside Beach is the site of Surfside Beach Club, a gated community with nearly 500 single family homes. Although it is open to people of all ages, many residents are in their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond. The beach is about 1/2 mile away.
In rolling western North Carolina and about 20 miles from Asheville, charming Hendersonville is the site of Carriage Park, a secluded, mountaintop community with lovely single family homes and town homes. Many residents are empty nesters and baby boomers. Some homes overlook a lake.
